At Visit My Smokies, we are always excited to hear about new attractions and restaurants that will soon call our beloved area home. Today, the big announcement comes from the popular restaurant, Harpoon Harry’s, as officials announced that they will be opening a bread new location in the heart of Pigeon Forge.
It’s hard to believe that it has been three decades since our beloved Pigeon Forge amusement park, Dollywood, first opened its doors. That’s right, during the 2015 season, Dollywood will celebrate 30 years of family-friendly entertainment.
When it comes to a family vacation in the Smoky Mountains, guests to the area have a ton of lodging and rental options to choose from. There really is something for everyone. We have condos, cabins, bed and breakfasts, and, for the more adventurous, campgrounds.

When Ole Smoky Moonshine first opened its doors in 2010, it was the first legal moonshine distillery in the Smoky Mountains. Since then, it has quickly grown in popularity and has earned the title of America’s most visited distillery. Not to mention, the company as a whole has solidified itself as one of the leading distilleries of premium moonshine in the country.
FireChaser Express Ride Vehicle Debut from Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN
Opening in September of 2013, the LeConte Center will be a new addition to Pigeon Forge. The 232,000 square foot Leconte Center is owned by the city and is located adjacent to the greenway and Riverwalk. It will be a venue for trade shows and competitive events as well as a meeting place for large assemblies. Set against a mountain background, with the ambiance of a Smoky Mountain Lodge, the LeConte Center is eagerly awaited.
Want to make your Smoky Mountain vacation truly memorable? Experience a piece of history this summer at the Titanic Museum attraction in Pigeon Forge. For the first time ever, the iconic violin played by RMS Titanic bandleader Wallace Hartley will be on display in the United States.
Visit the Country Tonite theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on April, 2013 to see the popular Loretta Lynn live in concert. Loretta Lynn is a country-music singer who was born in Kentucky. She was features on TV shows such as Coal Miner's Daughter and has many hit songs from the 1960's up until today. Some of her top-charting hits include none other than Fist City, Country Christmas, You Ain't Woman Enough, You're Lookin' at Country and Before I'm Over You.
