8 New Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Attractions and Restaurants You Can’t Miss
New activities are popping up all over the Smokies! As the area continues to grow, there are so many fun places for you to add to your vacation itinerary. From exciting attractions to delicious new restaurants, there are some places you don’t want to miss while you’re in town. We helped you out by creating a list of 8 new Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge attractions and restaurants you can’t miss!
1. Downtown Flavortown
Downtown Flavortown is the new place to be in Pigeon Forge. This Guy Fieri entertainment complex is truly one-of-a-kind. Of course, you can enjoy some of Guy Fieri’s famous culinary combinations in the restaurant, or grab a specialty cocktail at the tiki bar, but there are also a lot of opportunities for fun too! Enjoy over 10,000 square feet of arcade games, a 14-lane DuckPin bowling alley, and a photo opportunity in front of an iconic 1968 Chevy Camaro.
2. Smoky Mountains Creperie
Did someone say crepes? The Smokies are home to so many delicious pancake houses, but now we can add a creperie to the mix! Smoky Mountains Creperie recently opened in Gatlinburg and serves a variety of sweet and savory freshly made crepes. Some savory crepes include the Monte Cristo with eggs, swiss cheese, ham and sauce, and Chicken BBQ, with chicken, cheese, steamed coleslaw and BBQ sauce. Some sweet crepes include Nutella & Oreo and Apple & Cheesecake with Cinnamon Powder! You can also get various coffee and espresso drinks. It’s located at 812 Parkway, Suite 111 in Gatlinburg.
3. The Great Escape Room
The Great Escape Room has been voted the #1 escape room across the country, and there’s now a location in Pigeon Forge! There are 3 escape rooms where you can test your code-breaking, problem-solving, combination-cracking skills, and a scavenger hunt room that’s fun for all ages! In the scavenger hunt room, visitors will follow the clues to search the room for the tools they need to escape. This new Pigeon Forge attraction is located at 3784 Parkway, Suite 102.
4. Alpine Axe House
Alpine Axe House is a brand new axe throwing experience in Gatlinburg. Its location in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg makes it easy for everyone to get to! The state-of-the-art facility is family friendly and features end grain targets and HD projected games. You can choose from 4 different games for a one-of-a-kind axe throwing experience. Don’t worry — there is advanced training so that you’ll be a professional before the end of the night!
5. Buc-ee’s
Coming soon to 407: The Gateway to Adventure is Buc-ee’s Family Travel Center, which will feature 120 fueling stations, a 250-foot car wash, and more. At 74,000 square feet, this will be the largest convenience store in the world, beating out the 68,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s in Texas. It will also offer Buc-ee’s staples, like homemade fudge, Beaver Nuggets, and the famous Buc-ee’s Brisket Sandwich. An official opening date for Buc-ee’s has not yet been announced.
6. SkyLand Ranch
SkyLand Ranch is a unique mountaintop experience coming to Sevierville in the summer of this year. Visitors will ride on a scenic chairlift to the top of the mountain, where hours of fun awaits. There are plans for a mountain coaster, live animals, retail shops, event space and so much more. Plus, we can’t forget about the views! Gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains will be all around you when you visit SkyLand Ranch.
7. Flyride at Beyond the Lens
Have you tried SkyFly at The Island yet? FlyRide at Beyond the Lens will offer a similar experience. FlyRide will give you an immersive feeling of flight as you soar above 22 national landmarks. The sensory experience has full-motion seats that dip, turn and soar and allow you to feel wind and mist. You’ll feel as if you’re actually riding over each location! Other things to do at Beyond the Lens are search for Bigfoot and jump into the Alien Egg Pit.
8. Pinchy’s Lobster & Beer Co.
Are you ready for a brand new restaurant in downtown Sevierville? Coming in fall of 2022 is Pinchy’s Lobster & Beer Co. There’s currently plans for a covered deck, fire pits, shaded seating, a music stage, and a raw bar in the beer garden portion. The menu will include a variety of soups and salads, lobster rolls, and signature dishes like lobster tacos and Detroit-style clam pizza. Pinchy’s currently has an expected opening date of October 2022.
