1. Ober Gatlinburg’s Maifest 

From May 17 – May 27, 2019, Ober Gatlinburg will host MayFest, a traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring. The event at Ober Gatlinburg will feature an authentic German beer garden, a traditional maypole ceremony, a 5K race, a flower tent, craft demonstrations, face painting, bounce houses, and children’s activities.

2. Explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Great Smoky Mountains are constantly changing, so no matter how many times you visit, you’re never going to experience the same trek, people, animals or views twice. And while we love the Smokies in all of its seasons, we think visiting in May is a must. Check out a few of our favorite mountain excursions below:
