Gatlinburg Event Celebrates Songwriting in the Smokies
Open to the public, the Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival will run August 13 – 22, 2018. This ten-day Gatlinburg event showcases the talent behind some of the biggest musicians in the world.
Popular performers and songwriters that will be in attendance include Sylvia, Bobby G. Rice, Leona Williams, Carrie Tillis, Hillary Williams, and Sam Williams. According to the festival’s website, visitors to the event will get to hear the writers give the backstory and history of each song they perform. There is a good chance you’ll hear one or two of your favorite tunes!
The headliner for this year’s festival is Sylvia, who is famous for her hit songs “Nobody”, “Drifter”, “Tumbleweed”, “Snapshot”, and “Fallin’ in Love”.
The Gatlinburg event will be spread out among a variety of venues. All of the festival’s concerts are open to the public. The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival describes itself as “a festival focused on songwriters and bands with all original content.”

For Smoky Mountain vacationers that have a song or two that they have been working on, the Gatlinburg event will also host a workshop series where guests can collaborate with hit songwriters!
