Outside of the band, members Tyminski and Bales are well known for their musical roles in country music legend Alison Krauss and Union Station’s music. Band fiddler, Duncan, is also part of the Nashville Bluegrass Band.
Man of Constant Sorrow
The band’s most popular hit, “Man of Constant Sorrow,” was originally recorded in 1928 by Emry Arthur. However, the song was brought to life when O Brother actors George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson covered the song in the film. As a result of the Hollywood hit, the song went on to win “Single of the Year” from the Country Music Association, as well as a Grammy for “Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.” The song peaked at number 35 on Billboard’s chart.
