About Bobcats in the Smoky Mountains
One interesting thing about bobcats is that they’re the only felines that live in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Bobcats can weigh up to 70 pounds, and they have spotted coats, stubby tails, and ears with hairy tufts. Bobcats are not often spotted in the park because they tend to be more nocturnal, only coming out at night to hunt for food. They hunt rabbits, rodents, and birds. About the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park
The Gatlinburg SkyLift Park is one of the most popular mountain top attractions in Gatlinburg. Visitors will ride the iconic SkyLift to the top of the mountain, where they’ll find more exciting adventures. There’s the Gatlinburg SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in America, the SkyDeck, which offers gorgeous views of the Smokies and downtown Gatlinburg, and the SkyCenter, where visitors can grab a drink or a snack while taking in the views. There’s also the Gatlinburg SkyTrail, where most of the Smoky Mountain wildlife was spotted! The SkyTrail is a scenic walkway that connects to each end of the SkyBridge and allows visitors to hike through the mountains. It’s open to parents, kids, and even dogs! It has the Elevated Boardwalk, a wooden walkway that leads from the SkyDeck to the hillside of the ravine that cuts under the SkyBridge. There’s also the Tulip Tower, a 70’ steel tower that can be accessed by two rope bridges and has 4 viewing platforms. Then, there’s the Path, the non-boardwalk portion of the trail that’s cut into the hillside! The location of the SkyTrail makes it easy to understand why you see so many furry friends while you’re here.
