1. Ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel

Located at The Island in Pigeon Forge, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is a can’t-miss ride. Climb into a glass gondola and enjoy the spectacular views all around you. The wheel towers at 200 feet tall and lets you see Pigeon Forge for miles and miles. Each gondola seats up to 8 guests, so the whole family can ride together. You can choose to ride in the daytime for one of the best views of the Smoky Mountains, or ride at night to see the city lights!

2. Try the Cinnamon Bread at The Grist Mill

The Grist Mill at Dollywood.When you visit Dollywood, be sure to stop by The Grist Mill to try some of the world-famous cinnamon bread! You even get to watch as the bread is made right in front of your eyes and then served hot from the oven. The park sells approximately 350 loaves of cinnamon bread an hour! If you’re still craving some of the delicious bread when you get back home, follow the cinnamon bread recipe to make some of your own.

3. See a Show

Pigeon Forge is known for its award-winning shows. When you visit, you don’t want to miss the chance to spend your evening watching incredible entertainment. Visit the Country Tonite Theatre for an exciting show featuring singing and dancing, powerful gospel, and American Patriotism. You don’t even have to be a fan of country music to love the show! For a night full of laughter, go see the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud. Not only will there be singing and dancing, stunts, and comedy, but you’ll get to enjoy a Southern homestyle feast as you watch!

4. Watch The Island Show Fountain

This state-of-the-art fountain showcases a stunning presentation of water dance and light, which is all perfectly choreographed to 14 pieces of music. More than 89 vertical nozzles create movement, which 6 motion-based nozzles create graceful water sprays that swirl to the music. There is also a geyser nozzle that shoots powerful bursts of water 60 feet in the air! The fountain is completely free to watch.

5. Sample Homemade Fudge

Nothing satisfies a sweet tooth more than some homemade fudge. Luckily, Pigeon Forge has no shortage of candy shops that sell this special treat. The best part is that most of the shops let you sample the fudge for free before you buy! Head to The Fudgery and try some rocky road fudge, or visit The Old Mill Candy Kitchen and try some of their red velvet fudge.

6. Visit The Old Mill

The Old Mill on the Little Pigeon River, a popular site to visit on Pigeon Forge vacations.The Old Mill is known for its dining, shopping, and family-friendly events. When you’re in Pigeon Forge, be sure to take a tour of the Historic Old Mill. You can watch as they use the same equipment to grind Old Mill grains that was used when the mill was built back in 1830. You’ll also learn how the giant stones turn by harnessing the flow of the river and hear stories about the mill’s history.
