Gatlinburg SkyBridge Adds 3 New Glass Panels at Midpoint

The longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the country is getting an upgrade! Now, visitors will have 30 feet of glass panels to walk across. This new addition will make the experience even more incredible because you’ll be able to see the ground below you for a longer stretch on the bridge! Gatlinburg SkyBridge Upgrades

The Gatlinburg SkyBridge is getting 3 new glass panels! These will be added on to the 3 glass panels that are already at the bridge’s midpoint. Each of the glass panels measures 5’x5’, for a total of 30 feet of glass. Double the glass means double the thrill! The installation of the new glass panels is expected to be complete by August 19.

About the Gatlinburg SkyBridge

Gatlinburg SkyBridge at Gatlinburg SkyLift ParkThe Gatlinburg SkyBridge stretches 680 feet across a deep valley. At its midpoint, the bridge is 140 feet high. It’s the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America! You’ll ride the Gatlinburg SkyLift to the top of the mountain, where you’ll get off and make your way over to the SkyBridge. You can walk across the bridge at your own pace, taking in the breathtaking views as you do. At its midpoint, visitors love stopping to look through the glass panels and the view below. With the upgrades, you’ll have more glass panels to enjoy! Once you make it across the SkyBridge, you’ll walk back across the bridge to get to the SkyDeck, where you’ll take the Gatlinburg SkyLift back down.

The Gatlinburg SkyLift Park is one of the best attractions in downtown Gatlinburg! It sits at the summit of Crockett Mountain and is home to plenty of exciting and relaxing activities for visitors to enjoy. Gatlinburg SkyLift ParkGatlinburg SkyLift – Your journey to the top of Crockett Mountain takes place on the Gatlinburg SkyLift, which is the best seat in Gatlinburg! This scenic chairlift takes you up 500 feet to the top of the mountain. Along the ride, you’ll have gorgeous views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. The SkyLift originally opened in 1954 and has evolved into a smooth, comfortable, 3-seat chairlift.

Gatlinburg SkyDeck – The SkyLift takes you to the top of the mountain, where you’ll get off on the Gatlinburg SkyDeck. The deck offers sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains and plenty of outdoor seating for you to kick back and relax. It’s a great spot to watch a Smoky Mountain sunset! There are plenty of photo opportunities as well.

restaurant on the skydeckGatlinburg SkyCenter – The Gatlinburg SkyCenter is on the top of Crockett Mountain with the SkyLift. The first floor features a gift shop, plus a snack bar where you can get pizza, salads, wraps, ice cream and more. On the second floor of the SkyCenter, there’s a seating area with a bar and the best views of Gatlinburg! You can choose to sit inside to cool off during a hot day, or grab a seat on the front deck that overlooks downtown.
