Fowler’s Clay Works
Mike and Connie Fowler opened Fowler’s Clay Works in 2015 and have been producing beautiful pottery, shaped and glazed by hand, ever since. You will find mugs, baking dishes, bowls, pitchers, vases, and more at their large studio, and you can watch them form these works of art as they work the lump of clay on the pottery wheel. Are you interested in trying your hand at making pottery? Sign up for one of their classes, where you are taught how to throw on the wheel and create your very own mug. After choosing your glaze, they will finish your masterpiece and ship it to you once it is ready!
Alewine Pottery
Known for their maple leaf design, Alewine Pottery has some of the best pottery in Gatlinburg. For over 30 years, Robert Alewine has been sharing his passion for pottery, and the business is now spanning into the 3rd generation of family artisans! If you are exploring the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, Judy Jones Pottery should definitely be a must-stop on your list! Located across from the Wild Plum Tea Room on Buckhorn Road, this pottery shop features a gallery of unique and custom designs from Tennessee native Judy Jones. She hand-makes each custom piece with the use of molds, stencils, or decals, ensuring that her designs are completely unique. Some of her most popular designs include Dogwood and Chickadees, Twilight, and Moon over the Smokies. You can find everything from complete dinnerware sets and bird feeders to flower arrangers, hurricane lamps, yarn bowls, toothbrush holders, and soap strainers.
