This summer, The Island has introduced new opportunities for fun! Families will have a blast exploring everything this popular attraction has to offer. From new activities to new entertainment, you don’t want to miss out on visiting The Island on your vacation. Here is all the information on what’s new at The Island in Pigeon Forge:
1. Reverse Time
Reverse Time is an exciting new ride at The Island that is a must-try if you’re looking for a thrill. You’ll spin forward and backward, dip, and dive, as you face outward on the ride. It’s a unique and fun experience for everyone. It’s only $4 to ride, so be sure to hop on Reverse Time when you’re at The Island. This ride is great for everyone, from kids to adults! Just keep in mind that you have to be 6 years or older to ride.
2. Battleground Tactical Laser Tag
Experience laser tag like never before at Battleground: Tactical Laser Tag. When you play, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped inside one of your favorite video games! You can have hours of fun in the interactive laser tag experience. The battleground in this laser tag adventure was custom-designed specifically for its location at The Island, so it really is unlike any game of laser tag you’ve ever played before!
3. Ole Smoky Jars & Jams
Ole Smoky is continuing to expand their genre of music in their 2019 entertainment series, Jars & Jams. The series now includes rock, country, and 90s artists rather than just bluegrass bands. The series kicked off in May with a concert by The Band Perry, and it will continue through October 4. You can expect performances by David Nail, Vertical Horizon, and The Church Sisters. Don’t forget that you can also hear live bluegrass music for free daily on Ole Smoky’s outdoor stage!
4. Live Music
As if the concerts at Ole Smoky weren’t enough, you can also hear live music at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville! It doesn’t get much better than enjoying a delicious meal and a drink while listening to live music. The restaurant hosts nightly concerts from artists like Stephen Goff, Mike Snodgrass, and Steven Rutledge. You can sit outside and listen, or watch the show from inside! While you’re at the restaurant, be sure to try their famous Double Cheeseburger in Paradise or their Landshark Lager Fish & Chips. And don’t forget about their extensive drink menu, serving everything from margaritas to moonshine.
Coming Soon: Flying Theater Ride
The Island is adding a world-class flying theater experience for visitors to enjoy! This new ride takes visitors on a journey to new heights, combining a state-of-the-art ride system with a custom film that has some of the nation’s most beautiful natural wonders. During the ride, you’ll experience the movements, sounds, scents, and mists of an aerial adventure. The new flying theater will be next to the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and The Island Show Fountain. It is expected to open in early 2020.

In addition to all the exciting new things you can do at The Island, you won’t want to miss out on some of the attraction’s most popular activities. Go for a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and take in gorgeous views of Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains from as high as 200 feet in the air! You can also sit back, relax, and watch The Island Show Fountain, which puts on an unforgettable performance of water dance and light. The multi-tiered show fountain is choreographed to 14 pieces of music, and at night, you’ll get to see a variety of color added to the presentation. Other things to do at The Island include grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many eateries and restaurants, shopping, playing in the arcade, and riding rides.
