New Attraction in Pigeon Forge Coming Soon: Pigeon Forge Chairlift
A chairlift is one of the best ways to see the gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains. To ride a chairlift, visitors have always had to go to Gatlinburg — but not for long! Pigeon Forge is getting its very own chairlift attraction! Construction on this new attraction in Pigeon Forge is expected to start in early 2021, but we’ve got some inside information about it for you. Pigeon Forge Chairlift Updates
This brand new chairlift will be the first of its kind in Pigeon Forge! While not a lot of information has been released about this new attraction in Pigeon Forge, the company has been sharing updates on its Facebook. What we know so far is that the attraction will be located next to Pigeon Forge Snow. The Pigeon Forge Chairlift will offer incredible views of Pigeon Forge with the Smoky Mountains in the background. The attraction released new concept art for the chairlift recently on its Facebook page:
In addition to a chairlift, the new attraction in Pigeon Forge is planning to build an 85-foot observation tower! The tower is expected to be built in 2021 as well.

Other Gatlinburg Chairlift Attractions
While the Pigeon Forge Chairlift will be the first chairlift attraction in Pigeon Forge, there are several Gatlinburg chairlift attractions you can enjoy while you wait for it to open! Learn more about them below:
Gatlinburg SkyLift
The Gatlinburg SkyLift has been a popular attraction in Gatlinburg since it opened in 1954! Since then, it has evolved into a comfortable 3-seat chairlift. Visitors will ride the SkyLift up 500 vertical feet to the top of Crockett Mountain, where they can get off on the SkyDeck and walk across the Gatlinburg SkyBridge, grab a drink in the SkyCenter or just relax at the top before riding the SkyLift back down. The SkyLift offers gorgeous views of downtown Gatlinburg and the mountains both during the day and at night!
Scenic Chairlift at Ober Gatlinburg
The Scenic Chairlift is one of the most popular rides at Ober Gatlinburg! This ride lets you see the best views of the Smoky Mountains without having to go for a hike. It’s the longest chairlift of its kind in the country, and you can see as far as Douglas Lake on a clear day! In addition to the Ober Gatlinburg chairlift, you can enjoy a mountain coaster, mini golf, rides and more at this attraction.
Scenic Chondola at Anakeesta
Anakeesta is a popular mountaintop attraction, and one of the only ways to get there is by riding the scenic Chondola. Visitors choose to ride in an open-air, 4-person chair, or an enclosed gondola that seats 6. The ride takes you up 600 feet to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain. You’ll have breathtaking views both on your way up and your way back down. The other option for getting to the top of Anakeesta is via their Ridge Rambler vehicles, which take you on a guided tour through the forest.
