Another New Attraction Added to the Gatlinburg Aquarium: Splash with the Stingrays

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to splash around with the animals at the aquarium? Now you have the chance to splash with the stingrays at Touch-A-Ray Bay! Here’s what you need to know:

About Splash with the Stingrays

Splash with the Stingrays is a new experience at Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg. Just like it sounds, you will get the opportunity to get in the water with the stingrays!

Cost of the Splash with the Stingrays Experience

The cost is $30 per person and includes a behind-the-scenes tour, souvenir t-shirt and the unique experience of spending time in the water with the stingrays. You will get to spend about 15-20 minutes in the water with the stingrays. The cost of the Splash with the Stingrays experience is in addition to aquarium admission.

What You Need for Splash with the Stingrays at the Gatlinburg AquariumStingray in an aquarium

It is required that you bring your bathing suit. So, if you’re visiting the aquarium, go ahead and pack your bathing suit just in case you decide to try out the experience! You will be suited up at the aquarium before your adventure, too!

The aquarium will provide towels following your time in the water. You must be at least 40” tall to participate, so it’s perfect for kids (and anyone!) over age 5. Kids love to get in the water and feed the stingrays!

Is it safe to be in the water with the stingrays?

Of course! You have nothing to worry about when it comes to spending time with the stingrays. They have removed all of the barbs so the stingrays are completely safe. They are very friendly and love interaction with people. While you’re in the water, you’ll be able to feed the stingrays, so you’ll see lots of stingrays come up to you, rub along your sides and give you the chance to touch them!

If you want to interact with the stingrays, but you don’t want to get in the water, you can still spend time at Touch-A-Ray Bay! From the edge of the water, you can reach in to touch the stingrays and even spend $3 to feed them!
