Penguin Explores Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg — Video Included!

With no visitors inside Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg, it was a penguin’s turn to roam around! Fleurry, one of the penguins who live in the Gatlinburg aquarium, waddled throughout the attraction looking at the different exhibits. You can watch the video below!

Fleurry explored Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg, got attention from the staff, and got to see his other aquatic animal friends up close! Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies streamed it live on their Facebook page so everyone could see it.

About the Penguins at Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg

The Penguin Playhouse at Ripley's Aquarium in GatlinburgThe Penguin Playhouse is one of the most popular exhibits in Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg. It allows visitors to come nose-to-beak with the penguins in their indoor and outdoor habitat. When you visit the aquarium, you can see these birds from above and below the water. They have their own private beach in the outdoor exhibit and can be seen swimming around through the underwater tunnel. You can watch them swim, eat and play! In September of 2019, Ripley’s penguin exhibit became home to four new birds who were sent from Zoo Knoxville. These birds joined a group of penguins who already called the aquarium home.

In addition to seeing the penguins play, eat and swim at the Gatlinburg Aquarium, you can enjoy unique penguin experiences. These one-of-a-kind experiences allow you to get close to the penguins and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Penguin Painting

During the Penguin Painting Experience, you’ll get to see one of the African penguin artists in action! Watch as one of the penguins creates a piece of art using paint and its footprints. Not only will you get to watch, but you’ll get to take home the 8×10 painting you helped create!

Penguin Encounter

You’ll get to learn about the penguins from an Aquarium staff expert, and even get to pet one of them. But that’s not all — you’ll also get a souvenir photo with the penguin so that you’ll always remember the special moment!
