Rare Artifacts at the Titanic Museum

titanic museum in pigeon forgeAndrew Aldridge, a Titanic artifact expert from London, recently came to Pigeon Forge to unveil a rare artifact. The item was a silver brandy flask that was aboard the ship. It is a unique piece of Titanic history that survived the sinking of the ship. The flask belonged to first-class Titanic passenger, Helen Churchill Candee, who traveled alone on the ship. She quickly made friends with Edward Kent, who escorted her to the lifeboats after the Titanic hit the iceberg. Helen gave Edward a treasured heirloom and the flask, telling him he had a better chance of surviving than she did. Both items were found in Edward’s jacket pocket when his body was pulled from sea. They remained in the Candee family until her granddaughter put the brandy flask up for auction at the Henry Aldridge & Son Auction House in England. Both artifacts will remain at the museum until April 10, when they will be auctioned off in London.
