About Ripley’s Super Fun Zone in Gatlinburg

Take a trip back in time to the 1980s in the brand new Ripley’s attraction in Gatlinburg! Ripley’s Super Fun Zone is set to open in early March, introducing more fun and family-friendly activities to town. This spot will feature retro-themed attractions such as indoor laser tag, mini golf, a retail shop and a shooting gallery. It’s theme and indoor adventures makes it unlike any other Ripley’s attraction in the Smoky Mountains! Here’s more information about the individual attractions in Ripley’s Super Fun Zone:

1. Laser Tag

Toward the back of the building, there’s a large room that’s divided into two sides. Each side is big enough for 10 to 12 people to suit up and challenge each other to a game of laser tag. The rooms have retro-themed structures that players can hide behind, some shaped like arcade game consoles and others decorated with comic book panels and VHS rental stores. As you play, lights will flash neon colors.

2. Indoor Mini Golf

This 18-hole course starts on the first floor of the building and goes to the second floor. The course is decorated in yellow, blue and red colors with 80s movie posters and cardboard cutouts of Bob Ross and Jason from the Friday the 13th movie franchise.

3. Shooting Gallery

At the front of the building, you’ll find the shooting gallery, which features three toy guns you can fire at multiple targets. Shoot at toys that were popular during the 80s decade, like Lincoln Logs, the Game of Life and more.

4. Retail Area

You’ll find a great selection of retro goodies, like Strawberry Shortcake dolls, Slinkies and T-shirts of The Goonies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Super Mario. There is also a photo op wall where you can pose for photos with a variety of props.

Where is Ripley’s Super Fun Zone Located?

You can find this new attraction in Gatlinburg at 542 Parkway. It’s located in the building that used to be Cooter’s Place. Ripley’s gutted the go kart area and turned it into its laser tag room, then cleaned, carpeted and painted the building. Ripley’s is used to having attractions toward the middle of town further down the Parkway, so the idea was to try out a new location near the aquarium. This area of downtown Gatlinburg has welcomed several new businesses in the past year, including Ole Red.
