3 Things You Won’t Want to Forget for Your Winter Smoky Mountain Vacation
Are you planning a Smoky Mountain vacation this winter? When you visit the mountains during this season, you’ll want to make sure you have a few specific things packed for your trip. To help you get ready for your winter vacation, we have made a list of things you won’t want to forget to pack:
1. Clothes for Layering
If you plan to go hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains in colder weather, you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of layers to keep you warm. When you’re hiking, you want to make sure you have clothes that wick the moisture away from your skin. Choose clothes that can be layered easily, so if you get too warm, you can pack your light jacket away in your backpack. Other important items are things like: extra socks, gloves, mittens and boots, especially if you plan to hike.
2. Sunglasses and Sunscreen
We know, it seems weird to pack sunscreen and sunglasses for a winter vacation in the Smokies. We promise, you’ll appreciate having both of those items when you visit us in the mountains. When the snow blankets the ground, the sun will reflect off the snow a lot brighter than you would expect. Even if the parents don’t use their sunglasses, make sure to have these items for your kids!
3. Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows
To make your Smoky Mountain vacation extra special, make sure to pack plenty of hot chocolate and marshmallows. Kids will love settling down at night to a good movie and a cup of hot cocoa, topped with a pile of mini marshmallows. For chocolate lovers, add a drizzle of chocolate syrup before serving!
