What is Trotter’s Whole Hog BBQ?
Trotter’s Whole Hog BBQ is a new restaurant in Sevierville that has a casual and inviting atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating, as well as live music performances. What sets it apart from other barbeque restaurants in the area is its cooking method. Here, the hogs are cooked whole, low and slow. The process starts with the hog belly down, during which it’s smoked for several hours before being flipped and mopped with a housemade sorghum sauce. All of the barbeque will have a distinct smoky flavor you won’t find anywhere else in the Smokies. In addition to barbeque, visitors are able to pour their own beer from 20 taps, featuring local and regional craft beers. You’ll also be able to get family packs you can take home, as well as catering.

While the main spotlight of the menu is the whole hog, there are additional offerings as well. Choose a meat plate with two sides, or a sandwich! Meats are ½ dry rub chicken, spare ribs, housemade smoked sausage, and short rib. Sandwich options are smoked bologna, fried chicken, smoked meatloaf, and BLT. For sides, you can choose from baked beans, mac & cheese, slaw, smoked potato salad, corn nuggets, collard greens, BBQ potato chips, and Texas toast. Available for carry out only, these boxes can feed anywhere from 4 to 10 people. The Hank Jr. Box includes 2 meats, 2 sides, buns or Texas toast, ½ gallon of tea, and chocolate chip cookies. It can feed 4-5 people. The Hank Box feeds 8-10 people and includes 2 meats, 3 sides, buns or Texas toast, 1 gallon of tea, and chocolate chip cookies. You can also get a box of any of their starters!
