It’s never too early to start thinking about fall in the Smoky Mountains! One of our favorite Gatlinburg attractions just released details on their annual fall festival: Autumn at Anakeesta. Anakeesta in Gatlinburg is known for its gorgeous mountain views and mountaintop of family fun, and it’s one of the best places to celebrate the fall season. We’ve gathered all the details on Anakeesta’s fall festival for you below!

About Autumn at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg

Hallow Mountain at AnakeestaAutumn at Anakeesta is one of the best fall events in the Smoky Mountains! This year, visitors can expect more excitement than ever before. Autumn at Anakeesta will feature seasonal food, drinks, games, live entertainment and more family-friendly activities. What’s special about this year’s fall festival at Anakeesta is the family-friendly Halloween-themed movies at the fire pit! Every Friday and Saturday night in October, visitors can enjoy their favorite Halloween movies as the sun sets. The movie schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.: “Casper” and “Hocus Pocus”
  • Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.: “Hotel Transylvania” and “Goosebumps”
  • Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.: “Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein” and “Haunted Mansion”
  • Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.: “Halloweentown” 1 & 2
  • Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.: “Maleficent” and “Ghostbusters”
  • Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.: “Monster House” and “Haunted Mansion”
  • Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.: “Frankenweenie” and “Casper”
  • Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.: “Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Halloweentown”
  • Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.: “Alvin and the Chipmunks meet Frankenstein” and “Maleficent”
  • Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.: “Hocus Pocus” and “Frankenweenie”

Halloween movies aren’t the only fun you can have during Autumn at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg! The attraction will also have haunted rides on the Rail Runner mountain coaster each night when the sun goes down, as well as nighttime ziplining on their Dueling Zipline Adventure. There will also be live music every Saturday, and on select Fridays, featuring artists like the Josh Gilbert Band and Sara Collins.

Anakeesta will open its third and final phase of the $6.5 million expansion. The brand new Smokehouse Barbeque and Brewery will allow visitors to enjoy delicious food, good brews and great views, and it’s expected to open in September. The Smokehouse Restaurant will serve your Southern favorites like pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken. All of the in-house smoked meats are centered around a wood-burning fire for a juicy, smoked flavor. You can dine indoors or on the outdoor patio with stunning views of the mountains. Imagine how gorgeous it will be when the leaves start to turn in the fall! Anakeesta in Gatlinburg will also welcome new fire pits, more restrooms and an expansion of the Vista Gardens that includes an accessible ramp!

The expansion already brought Anakeesta a one-of-a-kind observation tower that’s downtown Gatlinburg’s highest point, their TreeVenture Challenge Course and a splash pad that resembles a mountain stream with a waterfall!
