Learn More About the Smoky Mountains’ Newest Coaster

It turns out, Dolly Parton isn’t the only one with a new roller coaster in Pigeon Forge! In fact, a new Pigeon Forge attraction has already made its way to the Great Smoky Mountains! The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is the first to land in Tennessee and the longest downhill alpine coaster ride in the United States. No Smoky Mountain vacation is complete without taking your family for a ride on the new coaster!

The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster offers visitors a one-mile ride through the hillside of Wears Valley, showcasing mountain views and a thrilling slide through the wilderness. To begin the ride, visitors will take a ride up the mountain while they take in the scenic views. As riders make their way down, they will feel the rush as they speed up to 25 m.p.h. During the 8 minute ride, the rider can determine the speed of the car, creating the ultimate hands-on adventure!

Is it a rainy day in the Smoky Mountains? Don’t worry; the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster can operate in rain, snow or sunshine, for year round fun! Anyone, ages three and older, can take a ride on the Pigeon Forge attraction, making it a great addition to every family vacation. The single-car coaster will seat two people; adults can ride alone while children, under 56 inches tall, must ride with an adult.

Located on Wears Valley Road, at traffic light #3 in Pigeon Forge, the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster sits right off the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The cost of the ride is $15 for adults, $12 for children ages 7-12 and $5 for children ages 3-6. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is open daily, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
