About Smoky Mountain Deer Farm

White-tailed deer are very popular Smoky Mountain wildlife.The owners of this attraction were on vacation and came across Arizona’s Grand Canyon Deer Farm in 1977. They loved the attraction so much, they decided they wanted to open their own some day. The owners visited this attraction again in 1987 and talked to the owners to make sure they wanted to move forward in their decision. They worked for 8 years to get the funds they needed to make their deer farm dreams come true. In 1988, they left the field of nuclear health physics and started working on the 143 acres of property in Tennessee building fences and structures. Now, you can come to the deer farm and enjoy all of the animals!

Animals You’ll Find

As soon as you step onto the property, you’ll feel like you’re in an extoic barnyard. Not only will you get to pet all of these animals, you’ll get to walk around with them too. Kids will love being able to interact with these incredible creatures, and people of all ages will enjoy it too. There are several kinds of animals you’ll get to see, and they include:

  • Deer
  • Goats
  • Elk
  • Camels
  • Zebras
  • Horses
  • Ponies
  • Emus
  • Kangaroos

Horseback Riding

Kids who are 5 years old and up can ride their own horse, and younger children can double up with parents or guardians. You’ll ride horses along a trail through the woods, enjoying the views and the ride at the same time. Horses at the facility get two days off a week and rest in the shade between rides.

Pony Rides

Small children who can’t or don’t want to go horseback riding can go for a pony ride. Parents or guardians lead the pony along a well-laid path while children hold onto the saddle horn. Kids who are less than 100 pounds and 56 inches tall may ride the ponies.
