The Dolly Parton Experience
One of the most significant new things to do at Dollywood in 2024 will be the Dolly Parton Experience, a brand new attraction that takes visitors through Dolly’s rise to fame. With special features and interactive displays located across several different buildings, this is a must-visit attraction for anyone who is a fan of the beloved Southern icon. The Dolly Parton Experience is expected to open in May 2024, so plan accordingly!
Lightning Rod Updates
Another update coming to Dollywood in 2024 is the renovation that is occurring on the Lightning Rod roller coaster. This renovation will add a new, high-speed chain lift that is expected to make the ride experience more consistent. But if you are a fan of the Lightning Rod the way it is, you don’t have to worry! After the first drop, the ride will remain identical to its current format.
Expanded “I Will Always Love You” Festival
After an extremely popular run in 2023, the “I Will Always Love You” Music Festival will return to Dollywood in 2024 with new additions and updates. These updates include a new version of Paradise Road, a brand new show called “Trio, Again,” an interactive singalong show, and plenty more! This festival will take place from March 9-April 14, kicking off Dollywood’s season with lots of musical fun.
More Operating Days
What could possibly make Dollywood better than everything else we have mentioned here? That’s right — more time to enjoy it all! In 2024, Dollywood will open for passholders on March 8, which is the earliest the park has ever opened for the year. It will open to the public on March 9. In total, there will be 23 more operating days for the park in 2024 when compared to 2023, allowing you even more chances to stop by and see the magic for yourself!
New Shows
Dollywood is constantly looking for new ways to entertain its visitors. We’ve mentioned that a new show called “Trio, Again,” will debut at the park, but that’s not the only new show coming this season! Dollywood will debut four new shows total at the park. One will be a part of the Dolly Parton Experience, written by Parton and featuring her niece, Heidi. There will also be a sing-along show and a production called “From the Heart.”
