The Anakeesta Village is Gatlinburg’s newest, family friendly attraction spot. The plan is for the area to have restaurants, attractions, retail shops and adventure activities with an authentic, mountain-style theme.

Initial Plans for Anakeesta
The initial site plans for Anakeesta Village were approved in April 2015, but it wasn’t until recently that the site was being prepared for construction. Even more recently, you may remember that the historic Ogle cabin was moved to make way for the Anakeesta Gatlinburg project. This was the first big construction move to prepare for the Anakeesta Village, and now the countdown to Anakeesta’s opening has begun!
The Anakeesta development is located in downtown Gatlinburg, on the Gatlinburg Parkway, across from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.
Anakeesta – Gatlinburg Attraction
The development of the Anakeesta area consists of 2 components – Anakeesta Village Parkway and the Anakeesta Mountain/AerialQuest.
The Anakeesta Gatlinburg Parkway area is over 2 acres of land that will be used for over 50,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and an outdoor plaza.
The Anakeesta Mountain area is over 65 acres that will be the aerial adventure park (AerialQuest), including aerial trekking, ziplines, canopy walks, an observation tower and more. There will also be an aerial lift that connects Anakeesta Mountain to the Anakeesta Gatlinburg Parkway area.
The Arrowmont School of the Arts and Crafts will not be leaving its current location.
Attractions at the Anakeesta Mountain Area
Tree Canopy Tour
This tour will give you a view of the treetops as you walk up to 40 feet above the ground.
Ziplines
Soar through the mountains on a zipline adventure, or try the double ziplines perfect for a race to the end!
Aerial Adventure Park
This area will challenge you as it tests your balance through the 10 courses of the aerial park with over 100 elements!
Adrenaline Tower
This tower will do just as it says – pump you with adrenaline and excitement! You’ll be free-falling through the mountains (with a slow, extremely safe, descent to the ground, of course!).
Observation Tower
This is a 60’ tower that gives visitors a 360-degree view of the Great Smoky Mountains, Mount LeConte and a great view of downtown Gatlinburg.
