Exciting Improvements Coming to Newfound Gap Road Near Gatlinburg

The improvements to Newfound Gap Road will primarily take place along a two-mile stretch near Gatlinburg, spanning from just past the town’s boundary to the intersection near Sugarlands Visitor Center. Improvements will also be made to several roadside parking areas along this stretch.

When will construction occur on Newfound Gap Road?

Construction is expected to begin as early as April 15, and is estimated to be finished by September 27.

These improvements include upgrades to the Sugarlands Riding Stables entrance road, River Road, the Gatlinburg Bypass Bridge, and the parking area for the Gatlinburg Trail. Although some of these areas are expected to close for construction, detours will be available.
