UPDATE: The opening of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant in Pigeon Forge has been rescheduled for early summer 2014.
Opening hasn’t slowed down big announcements from the newest Pigeon Forge attraction. Recently, developers for The Island in Pigeon Forge announced that Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville will soon be joining the roster of restaurants in Pigeon Forge.
Guests can enjoy delicious menu items at the soon-to-open Margaritaville like Jimmy’s Jammin Jambalaya, Cheeseburger in Paradise or Bayou Shrimp Pasta while listening to popular tunes from Mr. Buffett himself.
“The Margaritaville will be a great addition to The Island in Pigeon Forge as well as the entire Smoky Mountain area,” said a spokesperson for Visit My Smokies. “Along with many great restaurants, The Island in Pigeon Forge has many fun attractions and shops any family will enjoy.”
Slated to open on Valentine’s Day 2014, Margaritaville will be located in the south end of the new development. According to a news story from WATE in Knoxville, Pigeon Forge Mayor David Wear cited the new liquor by the drink law as the final step needed to bring the popular restaurant to East Tennessee.
The island-themed restaurant will feature a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere, perfect for the new Pigeon Forge attraction. For developers, the new Margaritaville promises to enable guests to escape and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Key West.
For those wanting to visit before Margaritaville opens, Visit My Smokies suggests to check out the restaurants already located at The Island for a delicious meal. Timberwood Grill’s menu features popular American classics like meatloaf, wings, salads and more. On the other hand, The Island in Pigeon Forge’s Mellow Mushroom will cure any pizza or calzone craving visitors may have. Along with the circular Italian dishes, Mellow Mushroom also features great tasting hoagies, salads and appetizers, perfect for sharing.
The new Margaritaville at The Island is part of the opening of Phase Two for the Pigeon Forge attraction. Upon total completion, The Island in Pigeon Forge will be home to a hotel, 2 million dollar Las Vegas-style water fountain and an estimated 50 more retailers and restaurants. The final phase of the Pigeon Forge attraction is expected to be completed spring 2014.
