Dolly Parton Opens Up About Her Insecurities

Country music setting with cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and guitarAs you may know, Dolly Parton was born into a very poor family, living without electricity or any luxuries of life. Even though she was one of 12 children, she was always encouraged to pursue her dreams. Her supportive family and humble roots have made her who she is today, a legendary country musician, treasured in the eyes of all visitors to the Smokies. But our very own ‘Backwoods Barbie’ has a few insecurities, too.

In an interview with Reporter Ray Martin in Nashville, Dolly Parton discusses her insecurities, including wigs, cosmetic surgery and tidying up before going out in public. Watch what she had to say here:

Dolly Parton is one of the most down to earth individuals, and visitors and locals look to her as a role model.

Whether it’s her blonde hair, beautiful high heels or popular country hits, tell Dolly what you love about her in the comments section below this post.

Dolly Parton’s ‘Blue Smoke’ tour kicked off on January 25 in California. She’ll be leaving the United States to perform in New Zealand and Australia through the month of February. For visitors who want to see the show, she will have a show on May 28 in Knoxville, Tennessee, not far from the Great Smoky Mountains. Tickets to any of the shows of the ‘Blue Smoke’ tour can be purchased on Dolly Parton’s website.

In addition to her tour, she recently made an appearance at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. She announced plans for a $300 million dollar project that includes a resort and roller coaster. The first stage of this project is the Firechaser Express roller coaster, and is expected to be complete by the time Dollywood opens for their 2014 season, in March.
