Everything You Need to Know About the Sevierville Farmers Market
The Smoky Mountain area is home to a number of wonderful farms that grow some of the tastiest fruits and vegetables east of the Mississippi! If you would like to try this delicious produce for yourself, we recommend visiting one of the excellent farmers markets in Sevierville, TN.
Both the Downtown Sevierville Farmers Market and the Sevier Farmers Co-Op Market offer local produce, meats, treats, and other homemade products. To help you make the most of your next vacation, Visit My Smokies has put together a convenient guide to both farmers markets.
Downtown Sevierville Farmers Market
The Downtown Sevierville Farmers Market is held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Friday from mid-May through the beginning of October. The market is held at the Bruce Street Gazebo, which is located at 138 Bruce Street in Sevierville.
Visitors to the downtown market will find lots of farm fresh fruits and veggies to enjoy. The tomatoes from nearby Grainger County are always a big hit at the market. These tomatoes are exceptionally flavorful because of Grainger County’s limestone-based soil, which is more acidic than other bedrock soils. This acidic quality in the soil seeps into the tomatoes, giving them their signature juicy taste. Other types of popular produce at the farmers market include blueberries from Shirley and corn from Henderson Farms.
If you’ve never been a fan of eating your vegetables, don’t worry – the Sevierville Farmers Market has plenty of food for you too! Shoppers at the market can pick up locally raised chicken, beef, and fresh eggs (on the 1st and 4th Friday of every month). Anyone with a sweet tooth will definitely want to check out Crust and Crumb, an artisan bakery that sells pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, breads, and cobblers at the market.
In addition to all of the great food, the farmers market also offers lots of beautiful crafts and gifts, including pottery, lawn ornaments, soaps, jewelry, paintings, and miniature sculptures.
Sevierville Farmers Market at the Co-Op
The Sevier Farmers Co-Op Market is held from 8 a.m. – noon on both Wednesday and Saturday mornings from mid-May through the fall. The market is located in the parking lot of the Sevier Farmers Co-Op at 321 W. Main Street in Sevierville.
The Co-Op Market offers an impressive collection of locally grown produce, including squash, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, apples, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The chef in your family will love the market’s selection of herbs and spices, which are perfect for seasoning your favorite dishes. Shoppers can also sample numerous delicious treats, such as turnovers, cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and pies. New vendors are always being added to the Sevierville Farmers Market at the Co-Op, so you never know what you’ll find during your visit!
