To help you keep track of the latest developments in town, Visit My Smokies has put together a guide to seven new attractions in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
1. Anakeesta
Anakeesta is a vacation destination in itself! Tucked away in the mountains overlooking downtown Gatlinburg, this popular attraction offers exhilarating outdoor adventures and spectacular shopping and dining. Guests will have the chance to whizz through the air on dueling ziplines or meander around the treetops in a unique forest canopy walk. If you’re not the thrill-seeking type, you can explore the charming boutiques and restaurants that make up Firefly Village. The only way to reach Anakeesta is via the Chondola, a scenic chairlift/gondola ride that leaves from The Strip.
2. Savannah Bee Company
Before you depart for Anakeesta, be sure to stop by Savannah Bee Company, which is located adjacent to the Chondola station. This unique shop is dedicated entirely to honey and honey-based goods. Visitors will find gourmet honey from all around the world along with honey-infused soaps, body butters, shampoos, body lotions, and other beauty products. Savannah Bee Company is known for its daily honey tastings and mead (honey-wine) bar.
3. Rowdy Bear Mountain
Rowdy Bear Mountain is another one of the best new attractions in Gatlinburg. Located steps away from the heart of the city, this adventure park is home to an awesome alpine coaster that offers beautiful scenery and plenty of thrills. In the coming months, Rowdy Bear Mountain hopes to add a second ride, a mountain glider that allows passengers to soar through the trees.
4. Acrobats of China
Acrobats of China brings international entertainment to Pigeon Forge. This amazing show stars the celebrated Jinan Troupe, a group of Chinese acrobats who have toured all over the globe. The talented members of the troupe will astound you with their hoop diving, high-flying aerial tricks, chair stacking, speed juggling, plate spinning, feats of strength, and classical dancing. We recommend arriving early so you can see the traditional Chinese tea ceremony before the show.
5. Crave Golf Club
Crave Golf Club is a one-of-a-kind putt-putt course that looks like it belongs in Candy Land or Willy Wonka’s factory. Themed around everything sweet, this memorable course features bubblegum trees, cocoa cliffs, gingerbread houses, jelly bean jungles, and an ice cream canyon. Crave is also home to an epic candy store and milkshake bar, so you can enjoy some treats while you golf.
6. Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures
Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures is a fantastic dinner show produced by the Queen of Country herself, Ms. Dolly Parton! Inspired by actual events, this show tells the story of how Dolly’s parents fell in love in 1939. Audience members can expect great music, incredible stunts, old-fashioned family values, and a mouthwatering Southern feast.
