About the Ted Bundy Exhibit at Alcatraz East Crime Museum

Alcatraz East Crime MuseumThe new Ted Bundy exhibit at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum opened in conjunction with the 30-year anniversary of Bundy’s execution. The exhibit is set up in front of Bundy’s infamous 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, which has been on display in the museum. The Volkswagen Beetle is associated with numerous murders in Washington State and Utah before his arrest in Florida. The car later yielded important forensic evidence linking several of his murders. New items included in the exhibit are letters that archive personal correspondence between Bundy, his wife, and his defense attorney during the Kimberly Leach trial, as well as feature photos, cards, and a radio given to Bundy by his mother. The display will only be open for a limited time and is designed to shed light on the private side of Ted Bundy.
