Why You Should Visit the Smokies This Fall

Ray of sunlight shining down on the Smoky Mountains at dawnAre you thinking about planning your vacation the Smoky Mountains? Millions of families make their way to the Smoky Mountains every year, so Visit My Smokies combined a few of the best ways to see the colors of the mountains.

Fall Colors

No colors are as beautiful as the bright reds, yellows and oranges that blanket the treetops during the fall season in the Smoky Mountains. East Tennessee is a beautiful place to visit any time of year, but the fall colors make the trip even more special. With plenty of places to take pictures, memories can be made in the Smokies year after year.

Events and Activities

There are many events that celebrate the harvest season in the Smoky Mountains. Dollywood has kicked off their Southern Gospel and Harvest Festival where visitors can enjoy live music concerts and meet with artists from across the country. The Gatlinburg Space Needle is also hosting their Shocktober event through the end of October, a popular activity for families who want to experience a different perspective of Halloween. At the Gatlinburg event, visitors can see a hilariously spooky hypnotism show that will leave the audience thrilled and excited with imaginations. There are many other events that can be found in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg this season, so take a look at Visit My Smokies events calendar for up-to-date information on upcoming events.

Views from Attractions

Some of the attractions in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer excellent views of the mountaintops. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel at The Island in Pigeon Forge is a modern-day ferris wheel that gives riders a 20-story view of the Smokies as well as the exciting Pigeon Forge Parkway. Other attractions in Gatlinburg, including the Gatlinburg Space Needle, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, and the Gatlinburg Overlook showcase scenic views of the Smoky Mountains.

I should visit the Smokies this Fall because I need a break from recent events that have occurred in my life and there is NO place I would rather be right now than the Smokies. I also feel this will keep me away from the rat race of daily living and help me decide what would be best for our kids..
