The Story Behind Red’s Soda Fountain & Ice Cream

If you’re a fan of Dolly Parton, you may have heard her talk about Red’s Café, which opened in 1946–the same year she was born. Dolly has shared childhood memories of eating at this diner before she was famous. There’s even a nostalgic mural in downtown Sevierville depicting a young Dolly Parton ordering a burger at the counter. The name of Red’s Soda Fountain & Ice Cream is inspired by the historic Red’s Café to connect guests with the past. This old-fashioned soda fountain has a 1940s and 1950s feel, complete with a jukebox, classic glass dishes, counter seating, vintage decor, and more.
