We’ve got all the details on Anakeesta’s Hallow Mountain and what you can expect when you visit this attraction.
About the Legend of Hallow Mountain at Anakeesta
Have you heard the Legend of Hallow Mountain at Anakeesta? Legend says that before Anakeesta became the popular attraction it is today, Anakeesta Mountain was a sacred and hallowed ground where souls of the dead were freed and turned into fireflies whose guiding lights joined the ancestors to provide a path for future souls to follow. When Appalachian settlers arrived and built homes and graveyards, Hallow Mountain was desecrated. But, the tormented souls the settlers buried here would never rest. Every year during the harvest moon, the lost souls of the settlers rise from their graves, searching for a way off of Hallow Mountain. Still to this day, the firefly souls of the ancient people prevent the undead from leaving Hallow Mountain.
This fall season, enter Anakeesta if you dare. Be careful though — the fireflies might not let you leave!
