About the New Smoky Mountain Sunrise Experience at Gatlinburg SkyPark
As many Gatlinburg visitors will tell you, the Gatlinburg SkyPark offers one of the best views in town. Guests love riding the SkyLift from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg to the summit of Crockett Mountain, then embarking on a walk across the SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian cable bridge in North America! And now, there’s a brand new way to experience this popular attraction! This fall, the Gatlinburg SkyPark will be offering a brand new experience called Smoky Mountain Sunrise — and we have all the details for you! What is Smoky Mountain Sunrise?
Smoky Mountain Sunrise is a special event that allows visitors to experience the Gatlinburg SkyPark like never before. Those who purchase a ticket to this event will be able to board the SkyLift before it normally opens and ride to the summit of Crockett Mountain to watch the sunrise. Fall is a beautiful time of year in the Smoky Mountains and sunrise is a gorgeous time of day — combine them and you’ve got an incredible experience in store! There’s nothing like watching the sun’s first rays reflect off the autumn colors in the surrounding trees, and you’ll love getting to see it all from the peak of Crockett Mountain. Plus, ticket holders will get to enjoy live music, donuts, coffee, and a souvenir mug as part of the event!
When is the experience occurring?
Smoky Mountain Sunrise will occur each Friday in October, for a total of four dates: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, and 10/27. The SkyLift will begin running on these dates at 6 a.m. and sunrise occurs between 7:30-7:55, depending on which date you come to visit. Make sure to check what time the sun rises on your date and arrive a bit early so you can get up to the top of the mountain with plenty of time to spare!
When are tickets available?
Tickets are available now! You can purchase your tickets now from the Gatlinburg SkyPark – just remember that there are a limited number of tickets available for purchase, so make sure to grab yours soon if you’re interested. Additionally, tickets can only be purchased online.
Do tickets include general admission to the park?
Yes! Your ticket to Smoky Mountain Sunrise includes access to all of the Gatlinburg SkyPark for the day of your visit. Plus, you can leave the park and re-enter later in the day if you wish!
What else can I do at the Gatlinburg SkyPark?
There are lots of fun activities available at the Gatlinburg SkyPark once you’ve finished watching the sunrise. In addition to the SkyLift and SkyBridge, the park features various observation areas, a restaurant and bar, and beautiful walking paths. Come for the sunrise, and stay for the great activities here at the Gatlinburg SkyPark!
