Since it opened in 1962, Ober Gatlinburg has been a favorite attraction of Sevier County residents and visitors alike. This is, in part, thanks to the ever changing nature of the attractions that are located at the resort. Coming this year are three changes that are sure to excite guests who are well versed with the resort as well as those who have yet to experience it for the first time.

For the first time in over a decade, the month of August will have 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. That is an extra 48 hours where you and your family are completely free of the stress from everyday life. This means no school, no work, and no nosy neighbors. For families wanting to spend their extra weekend in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains, we at Visit my Smokies have come up with a few fun activities you can enjoy based on different vacation personalities.
