Dollywood Opens with Big Changes for 2014 Season

Just about every Dollywood fan knows that there are big changes happening at the Pigeon Forge theme park. Lucky for you, we have all of the details for this season, including the most up-to-date information about the FireChaser Express roller coaster that everyone’s talking about. Here’s what’s happening at Dollywood:

Showstreet Upgrades

One local news station, WATE, has reported that guests will experience a whole new look when they see Showstreet. When you enter the gates, you will notice big changes to the entryway. The Dollywood logo and butterfly will now the be focal point of the entryway and plaza area. Nearly 2.5 million people are expected to take a photograph with the logo and butterfly during the 2014 season alone!

When you walk along Showstreet, you will probably notice a few subtle changes and some complete remodels. Guests will notice new, bright lights shining to illuminate the Showstreet Palace Theater. If you visit Dollywood regularly, you may also recognize changes at some of the concession stands and shopping areas. The park has really made an effort to improve the guests’ experiences, from the moment they walk in the door.

New Sweet Treat

Everyone loves Dippin’ Dots ice cream, right? Well, believe it or not, Dippin’ Dots has developed a special flavor exclusively for Dollywood guests! The new flavor, FireChaser Cherrybomb Ice, commemorates the park’s first dual-launch coaster. Dollywood’s new Dippin’ Dots will have a sour fruit flavor paired with popping candy; kids are sure to fall in love with this one-of-a-kind snack.

That’s not all for Dippin’ Dots, though. New for the 2014 season, Dippin’ Dots will be introducing the Tennessee Tornado Sundae Shop. When you stop by, you can enjoy a selection of delicious Dippin’ Dots treats like shakes, sundaes and floats.

FireChaser Express

As you probably know, FireChaser Express is the newest attraction at the Pigeon Forge theme park, offering a family-style roller coaster experience. It launches forward and backward, and you only have to be 39 inches tall to ride it!

We love the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood. We come to Pigeon Forge at least 2 to 3 times a year. We are season pass holders for Dollywood and have been for years. I am not sure what I like the best about Dollywood. We love it all.

I’ve never been to Dollywood, but was wanting to know if you have any gluten free options in the park.

would love to visit the Smokies again but I can’t locate any place to stay that will accept my puppy…… I’m sure I’m not the only one that travels with a pet.

I wish that, as a season pass holder, the Execs would listen to us and open more small children friendly rides. The new coaster doesn’t look too “family friendly” to me. This term should include all of our children, toddler on up. Dollywood to me is about family, and just wish the smaller kids were better represented
