1. Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival

From November 4 – January 1, 2017, Dollywood celebrates its annual Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. The entire theme park is transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of holiday lights and seasonal decorations. In addition to the park’s thrilling rides, visitors will enjoy special Christmas shows, holiday music, and the nightly Parade of Many Colors. Dollywood will also host some special guests that your children will definitely want to meet: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and all his friends!

2. Breakfast or Brunch with Santa at The Old MillThe Old Mill in Pigeon Forge during the winter.

Before he sets off on his mission to bring gifts to children around the world, Santa Claus likes to spend a little time in Pigeon Forge to relax before the big day. If your kids would like to meet Jolly Old St. Nick while he is in the Smokies, your family can stop by The Old Mill Pottery House Café & Grille for the annual Breakfast or Brunch with Santa on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Be sure to bring a Santa-sized appetite, because the food at the Pottery House Café is absolutely delicious! Reservations are required and can be made by calling 865-406-6558.

3. Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival

Anyone who loves great music will definitely want to attend the Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival! Held at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center from December 6 – 9, 2017, this four-day festival will feature some of the best bluegrass musicians in the Southeast. We recommend purchasing your tickets as early as possible, as this festival is one of the most popular things to do in Pigeon Forge in December.

As part of its annual Winterfest celebration, Pigeon Forge is decorated with five million holiday lights! To see these glittering displays for yourself, you can take the Driving Tour of Lights, a special route that passes by all of the beautiful Christmas lights. Free maps of the Winterfest Driving Tour of Lights are available at the Pigeon Forge Welcome Centers or at the Pigeon Forge Trolley Office.

5. Christmas in a Pigeon Forge Cabin

A cabin in Pigeon Forge is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas! Tucked away in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, cabin rentals provide an idyllic setting for a holiday vacation.
