2019 featured Dollywood’s largest expansion ever with the opening of Wildwood Grove, but the theme park isn’t done growing. During its 2020 season, Dollywood will introduce a brand new festival! The Flower and Food Festival will commemorate Dollywood’s 35th anniversary season. We’ve got all the details on the new festival and what you can expect in Dollywood’s 2020 season.
New Dollywood Festival in 2020
Dollywood will add one more festival to its mix during its 2020 season. The Flower and Food Festival will last from May 8 to June 14. Visitors will be able to enjoy nearly half a million flowers and plants throughout the park. Some displays you might see are Smoky Mountain turtles, frogs, black bears, and tributes to “I Will Always Love You” with a floral heart umbrella and “Coat of Many Colors” with a butterfly and scenic sculpture of Dolly’s mother sewing the coat. These topiaries are expected to be 10 to 15 feet tall! The festival will also feature a number of interactive displays, and a visual element called “Umbrella Sky” on Showstreet. Hundreds of colorful umbrellas will be suspended over the pathway.
And of course it wouldn’t be a Dollywood festival without delicious food options — especially since food is in the name of the festival! Here are just some of the food and drink options you can enjoy at the Flower and Food Festival:
- Spring beef over crispy potatoes
- Heirloom tomato and feta cheese galette
- Savory lime chicken legs over rice pilaf
- Caprese skewers with a balsamic reduction
- Pink watermelon lemonade slushy
- Rose lemon spritzer
- Fresh violet slushy
In their press release regarding the event, Dollywood described this festival as a “must-experience” event, so start making your plans to celebrate the 35th anniversary season with them at the Flower and Food Festival!
New Season Pass Option in 2020
In addition to the Flower and Food Festival, Dollywood’s 2020 season is introducing a new season pass option. It’s called the “Pre-K Imagination Season Pass.” This includes unlimited admission for children who were born in 2015 and 2016. If you’re interested in this new season pass option, you can register as early as November 4!
Visitors who purchase their season pass by Dec. 1 get perks like a free visit to Smoky Mountain Christmas in 2019, the option to spread out your payments over 9 months, up to 4 free tickets to bring a friend in 2020 with a Super Pass, and $15 off summer season pricing.
