Top 3 New Attractions in Pigeon Forge

With the additions tons of new restaurants, attractions, shops and more, there is no doubt that Pigeon Forge is one of the fastest growing vacation destinations for families. To help families vacationing to the Smokies narrow down the options, we at Visit My Smokies have put together a list of the top three new attractions in Pigeon Forge.

The Island in Pigeon Forge (131 Island Drive)

Home to tons of exciting shops, restaurants and things to do, the Island in Pigeon Forge is fast becoming one of the most popular attractions in the area. Guests can enjoy the scenic sights from atop the 20-story Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, watch the water dance at the attraction’s brand new $2 million Las Vegas-style water fountain, or grab a great-tasting meal at one of the many brand new restaurants. During the warmer months, this new Pigeon Forge attraction gets even more exciting with live musical entertainment nearly every night of the week. Not to mention, The Island in Pigeon Forge also offers guests a large arcade that will keep the kids entertained while waiting on a table at next door Timberwood Grill, or looking to escape the elements outdoors for awhile.

Xtreme Racing Center (Between Traffic Lights #5 and #6 on the Parkway)

Do you want to go fast? Xtreme Racing Center offers guests one of the most thrilling go kart experiences in Pigeon Forge. With professional racing-grade go karts that reach average top speeds of 30-40 miles per hour, this is definitely not your average go kart attraction. Upon arrival to the track, guests will watch a brief safety video and pick out their correct helmet size before getting behind the wheel.

Visitors have the option to either race in a single run on the 35 miles per hour carts to get an appropriate feel for the speed and handling of their go kart, or they can opt for a double run experience then allows them to experience the speed of the 40 mile per hour karts on their second go around the track. The second run takes riders through the same track as the first, only backwards.

For drivers that prefer the more traditional style go karting experience, Xtreme Racing Center also offers an elevated race track that features standard karts.

Prices at Xtreme Racing Center in Pigeon Forge start at $19.99 plus tax for the single run and $29.99 for the double race experience. Local, military and group discounts are available.

Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster (867 Wears Valley Rd.)

The first of its kind in the Smokies, the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster offers guests a roller coaster experience like never before. Totaling a full mile of thrilling twists, turns and drops, the alpine coaster offers guests unique scenic views of the Smoky Mountains at upwards of 25 miles per hour!

The cost to ride the new coaster is $15 for adults, $12 for kids ages 7-12 and $5 for children ages 3-6. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. year-round.
