Santa Claus is Spending Spring in the Smoky Mountains

It’s never too early to be planning for Christmas, right? Even though the holiday just ended and we’re headed into a brand new year, nothing is better than celebrating Christmas in the Smoky Mountains in March. This March, over 300 Santas will be making their way to one of the largest Christmas-themed events in Gatlinburg. From March 15-19, visitors can expect to see Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves wandering throughout the Smoky Mountain area and spreading the joy of Christmas for Clausfest 2014.

If you dress as Santa, Mrs. Claus or an elf during the holiday season, you are invited to register for the event. With workshops galore, fashion shows and more, there is plenty of fun to be had at this year’s Clausfest. Only 350 Santas can get their name on the list, so make sure you register on Clausfest’s website as soon as possible. If you’ve experienced Clausfest in Gatlinburg in previous years, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Although this year’s Clausfest theme is the same as the 2012 convention, it’s by far one of the best choices. The theme, “Keeping Christ in Christmas,” will come with new additions and a brand new program, so everyone can enjoy the convention, even if they’ve visited before.

Here’s some of the great things happening at the Clausfest event in Gatlinburg for 2014:

  • Parade of the Clauses
  • Clausfest Talent Variety Show, the first of its kind at the convention
  • The annual Santa Fashion Show
  • Animal Fashion Show for pets who want to be a part of the holiday fun
  • The Snowball, a formal dinner gathering
  • Vendor booths
  • Workshops
    • Magic and How to Entertain Your Audience
    • Working with the Media
    • Santas Visit
    • Working with Pets
    • Balloon Twisting and Sneak-a-Peek Santa
    • Santa Magic & Costuming
