Winterfest signWinter is a magical time in the Smoky Mountains. The cool mountain air mixed with the seasonal holiday lights create the perfect wonderland for anyone who visits. To celebrate this year’s cooler season, both Pigeon Forge and Sevierville invite guests to join them in their annual Winterfest celebrations.

Lasting from early November to the end of February, both the Sevierville and Pigeon Forge events will showcase the majestic beauty that makes this season great. During this time, visitors will enjoy special lighting displays throughout both the towns, as well as experience grand parades, great music, and a special Pigeon Forge Trolley Tour of Lights.

Want to start the celebrations off right? Both towns will be hosting a special Winterfest kick off event on November 12. The Pigeon Forge event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with the third annual Salute to Veterans Parade that runs from Traffic Light #7 to #10 before concluding at Patriot Park for the official Winterfest celebration at 5 p.m. Special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, live music, and a kids’ play area are just a few of the reasons guests will not want to miss this celebration.

Also on November 12, the Sevierville celebration will take place outside the Sevierville Community Center. Guests here will also enjoy live music and entertainment. Both the Sevierville and Pigeon Forge Winterfest event will conclude with a special fireworks display and a ‘switching on’ of the seasonal lights.

Gatlinburg Winterfest

The winter celebrations don’t end there. On November 13, Gatlinburg will follow up the Sevierville and Pigeon Forge events with its 24th Annual Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff. Free to the public, guests will sample several mouth-watering chili varieties and vote for their favorite. The city of Gatlinburg will conclude the event by lighting up the night sky with their own magical light show. The Gatlinburg Winterfest will last 5-8 p.m. on the Parkway downtown.
