Cinch Your Saddle in the Smokies

In previous posts, we’ve told you about the different ways to view The Smokies – zip line, hot air balloon, ATV, etc. One method we haven’t mentioned is horseback riding. It is a relaxing way to take in your surroundings at a leisurely pace. There are plenty of options if you chose the equine-style of travel.

In Sevierville, there are a few options for horseback riding –  Five Oaks Riding Stables is one of the best! These riding stables aren’t hard to find because they’re just off the Parkway in Sevierville!

Adventure Park Five OaksFive Oaks Riding Stables has a 70-acre nature park with mountain
streams. You have great views of a mountain lake and Mount LeConte. Because of its great location, you’ll be just a short drive away wherever you stay! This attraction offers a 3.5 mile horseback trail ride that features streams and mountain views. If you have kids with you, you can choose the Double Rider. Kids 3 to 5 years old can ride with with an adult. There is also a zipline and horseback combo if you want to explore the Smokies from the ground and from the air!

, there are four stables where you can ride. Lasting from 45
minutes to several hours, all rides are at a walking pace. In addition,
hayrides, carriage and wagon rides are available. You can also bring your horse
to the park. The horseback riding stables in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are Cades Cove, Smokemont, Smoky Mountain Riding Stables and Sugarlands.
