If you’re looking for a unique treat during your next trip to Pigeon Forge, TN, a visit to Teaffle is definitely in order! This new shop specializes in bubble tea, a popular drink invented in Taiwan, and bubble waffles, a mouthwatering dessert from Hong Kong. To help you make the most of your vacation, Visit My Smokies has put together a guide to everything you need to know about Teaffle in Pigeon Forge.

Bubble Tea

Bubble tea has been a favorite beverage for people living in East and Southeast Asia since the 1990s. The drink is famous for including bobas, little black pearls made from tapioca that sit at the bottom of the tea. The bobas are sweet, soft, chewy and have a texture similar to that of a gummy bear.

Teaffle serves two types of bubble tea: milk-based tea and fruit-based tea. Some of the flavors available for the milk-based tea include:

  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Pistachio
  • Almond
  • Cinnamon Roll
  • Cookies and Cream
  • Purple Taro
  • Green Matcha

For the fruit-based tea, drinks are made from a tea or lemonade base and then sweetened with a fruit flavor. Popular varieties for the fruit-based tea include:

  • Raspberry
  • Watermelon
  • Peach
  • Orange
  • Mango
  • Strawberry
  • Pineapple
  • Passion Fruit

All of the teas at Teaffle come with bobas, but guests can request to have them left out if they’re not a fan of tapioca.

Bubble Waffles

Teaffle in Pigeon Forge is also getting a lot of positive buzz for its bubble waffles. Made from a sweet and eggy batter, these waffles have distinctive spherical puffs or “bubbles.” A staple of Hong Kong street food since the 1950s, bubble waffles are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

At Teaffle, made-to-order bubble waffles are rolled into a cone and filled with one or two scoops of ice cream and up to three toppings. The waffles themselves can be made with sweets mixed right into the batter, such as chocolate chips, sprinkles, Fruity Pebbles, or Oreos. The bubble waffles are served warm and provide a delicious contrast to the chilled ice cream inside.

Ice cream flavors available at Teaffle include:

  • Birthday Cake
  • Butter Pecan
  • Sherbert Orange
  • Sorbet Berrywild
  • Rocky Road
  • Strawberry Cheesecake
  • Peanut Butter Fudge
  • Vanilla Bean
