Theater stage with lights and wooden floorThe Smoky Mountain Opry is the best place in Pigeon Forge to enjoy live music. The Opry is the largest musical variety show in the area and features all types of music from the 1940s up to today with big band music, country, disco, swing, Broadway, Motown, gospel and favorites from movies. Enjoy tributes to favorite artists like Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Johnny and June Carter Cash, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Jerry Lee Lewis, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Simon and Garfunkel, Janis Joplin, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder and many more music legends.

Current specialty acts and musical numbers include a former Rockette, a former member of the Russian National Theater Dance Group, a Las Vegas silk aerialist, a juggler and a magician. You will be amazed by the dancers, singers, hilarious comedians, high flying musicians, the dazzling costumes, special effects, surround sound, stunning laser lights, giant video screens, a digital projection system and huge video screens. The two-hour spectacular show is appropriate for all ages.

Unlike most musical shows, the Opry also features live animals. A 600-pound white tiger and a 350-pound gold Bengal tiger appear on stage in a “Circle of Life” sequence that can be seen by the public during a meet-and-greet session at the end of the first half of every show. Other animals include two Serval cats and an Arabian horse.

A recent addition is a rare white lion, Tsimba-Vaati, one of only approximately 300 white lions in the world. A white lion is a genetic rarity that is regarded as a harbinger of good fortune in parts of Africa. Tsimba-Vaati was purchased from a United States private zoo and was born in captivity. He is seven years old, weighs about 500 pounds and has gotten comfortable on stage after some training.
