You can’t come to the Smokies without finding some event going on. You may be wondering what events are happening in the Smoky Mountains in March, and we want to share some of the biggest ones with you! Check out these top 6 events you’ll want to experience in the Smoky Mountains in March:

1. Gatlinburg St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

aerial view of GatlinburgGatlinburg just announced they are having their first Gatlinburg St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. From March 12-19, 2022, the city will be celebrating all things Irish. Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales will be performing Irish jigs and reels starting on Wednesday, March 16 nightly from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Gatlinburg. There will also be a professional bagpiper playing all kinds of music. Several restaurants in the area will be serving Irish inspired food, and the event ends on the 20th with a fireworks show at the Gatlinburg Space Needle.

2. Get Lucky in March at Gatlinburg Skylift Park

During the entire month of March of this year, Gatlinburg SkyLift Park brings you the Get Lucky in March event. The entire park will be decorated in green lights, including the SkyBridge at night. There will be a huge tree with a pot of gold underneath it, and while supplies last, commemorative coins will be handed out. You’ll love how dedicated the Park is to celebrating st. Patrick’s Day all month long!

3. Irish Month at Titanic Museum

Titanic Museum in Pigeon ForgeThe Titanic Museum is also celebrating Irish heritage with their Irish Month event. The ship was built in Belfast, Ireland, and there were 187 Irish passengers on board. Along the self-guided tour, you can learn more about the Irish passengers and the area where the ship was built. You won’t want to miss out on this month-long event!

4. Everyone is Irish at Anakeesta

On March 17 from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm, you can experience the Everyone is Irish event at Anakeesta! Enjoy specialty food and drinks, like green beer, Irish-themed cocktails, and classic foods like bangers and mash. An authentic Irish bagpipe player named Kelly Shipe will be performing in Black Bear Village. Plus, you’ll still be able to enjoy all of the other fun activities at Anakeesta while you’re there!

5. St. Patrick’s Day at The Island

island in pigeon forgeThe Island is also celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a huge event! On Thursday March 17 from 11 am to 6 pm, the entire area will be lit up in green. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and The Island Show Fountain will both have green lights to celebrate. There will be live entertainment, including singers and dancers. Plus, you can try some of the themed food at Yee Haw Brewing Company, Timberwood Grill, and Mellow Mushroom.

6. Car Show at the LeConte Convention Center

Smoky Mountains in March starts the season of car shows. There is a car show at the LeConte Convention Center in March you won’t want to miss out on. The show is called Corvette Expo featuring Horsepower and Hotrods. People will be able to park their cars and talk with other enthusiasts, and then they will cruise the Dragon later in the day. This car show takes place from March 18 to 19, 2022.
