Dollywood’s 2026 season is officially underway, and it’s looking like it’s going to be one of the most exciting seasons yet! From a first-of-its-kind new attraction to fresh and exciting events and family-friendly celebrations, Dollywood’s 41st season is one you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a first-timer or a longtime fan of the Pigeon Forge theme park, there’s no shortage of reasons to plan a trip. Here’s what to expect at Dollywood during the 2026 season:
The New, Groundbreaking NightFlight Expedition
The real star of the 2026 season is NightFlight Expedition, a groundbreaking ride that features 4 thrilling adventures all in a single unique experience! This immersive indoor ride is a wild mix of roller coaster thrills, twisting whitewater rapids, and a flight through a vivid Smoky Mountain story, all crammed into one long, jaw-dropping adventure. It’s not just a big deal for Dollywood; it’s making waves across the amusement park industry for being truly innovative.
“We’re using steroids at Dollywood?” Dolly Parton joked about the new ride. “I thought we were a family park.”
Located in Wildwood Grove, NightFlight Expedition extends this area of the park’s storytelling, inviting riders to find the mythical Secret Lake. Guests follow the light on the ride to find Secret Lake, eventually taking a plunge into the water! The ride is inspired by Dolly’s childhood, when she would chase lightning bugs right here in the Smokies.
The 11th coaster at Dollywood, NightFlight Expedition is the longest ride in the park at over 5.5 minutes long and is located inside of a 44,000 square foot indoor facility. A 60-foot water tower that holds half a million gallons of water supplies the rapids portion of the ride. Because the ride is indoors, it’s the perfect option for when you need a break from the heat or cold. The best part? You don’t have to worry about getting too wet!
Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday
Dollywood plans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a new Sweet Summer Nights 3D drone and fireworks show. Red, white, and blue decor will take over the park and there’s even a dance part before the show begins. This addition is part of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, which takes place June 15th through August 2nd and is one of the park’s most beloved seasonal celebrations.
Run Dollywood: A New Way to Race Through the Smokies
Dollywood will host the very first Run Dollywood Race Weekend April 25th and 26th. It will feature a fun-filled kids run, plus 5K, 10K, and half marathon courses that traverse through the park. The Butterfly Challenge is for guests who complete all 3 adult races. They’ll receive an exclusive commemorative Butterfly Challenge medal, which is a pink butterfly that looks like the butterfly at the Dolly Parton Experience.
The Exclusive Harvey’s Boo Bash Event
Harvey’s Boo Bash, an exclusive nighttime event, is set for October 16th, 23rd, and 30th. The event is hosted by Harvey, Dollywood’s loveable pumpkin character, and is an immersive celebration with one-of-a-kind entertainment, treats, and fun. Children are invited to dress up in their coolest (or spookiest) costumes and can even trick-or-treat! This separately ticketed event will have a capped attendance to provide guests with plenty of time to enjoy the rides at Dollywood.
Neon Nights at Dollywood’s Splash Country
Dollywood’s Splash Country will host a high-energy, glow-themed event with a live DJ, vibrant neon vibes, and unlimited access to select attractions. Held on select Friday and Saturday nights in the summer, this after-hours celebration combines water adventures with music and dazzling color. Neon lights will deck the park and you’ll find immersive glow experiences and a festive nighttime atmosphere.
