Everything You Need to Know About the Ole Smoky Pigeon Forge Moonshine Distillery

When Ole Smoky Moonshine first opened its doors in 2010, it was the first legal moonshine distillery in the Smoky Mountains. Since then, it has quickly grown in popularity and has earned the title of America’s most visited distillery. Not to mention, the company as a whole has solidified itself as one of the leading distilleries of premium moonshine in the country.

Today, the folks over at Ole Smoky Moonshine are at it again with the grand opening of their brand new Pigeon Forge moonshine distillery at The Island in Pigeon Forge. Known as The Barn, Ole Smoky’s brand new Pigeon Forge moonshine distillery promises to carry over the welcoming and relaxing environment that visitors have come to expect from the company.

About the Pigeon Forge Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery

Close up Ole Smoky Moonshine in Pigeon ForgeAt 6,000 square-feet, the Ole Smoky Barn in Pigeon Forge is roughly half the size of their original Gatlinburg location, the Moonshine Holler. However, just because the size is slightly smaller, that doesn’t mean that guests should expect any less than the high level of fun and excitement that the popular distillery is known to offer.

In addition to several moonshine tasting stations and retail space, the new moonshine distillery also has its very own outdoor stage where guests can unwind and listen to free bluegrass concerts going on daily. Not to mention, the new location also allows guests to skip having to search for parking in downtown Gatlinburg.

The Island in Pigeon Forge has a ton of free parking that visitors are more than welcome to take advantage of. There is also a complimentary trolley service that will take guests practically from their car to the entrance of the Pigeon Forge attraction.

Open to the public, the Ole Smoky Barn is open seven days a week until 11 p.m.

History of Pigeon Forge Moonshine

Pigeon Forge moonshineThe Ole Smoky Barn is the second Pigeon Forge moonshine company to open this year. The Old Forge Distillery, located at The Old Mill Square, began welcoming guests earlier this summer.

Similar to Ole Smoky Moonshine, the moonshine made at Old Forge Distillery is created solely from locally grown corn and other ingredients. The goal for the distillers from both of the Pigeon Forge moonshine companies is to capture both the taste and history of the Smoky Mountains in every jar.
