Silers Bald Hiking Trail
Silers Bald Hiking Trail located off of Clingmans Dome Road the trail is 9.3 miles long round trip with an elevation gain of 2152' with a strenuous difficulty rating for hiking abilities and fitness level required. You will start on the Forney Ridge Trailhead leading to the junction for the Appalachian Trail that you will continue on until you see the trail sign for Silers Bald. The trail up to the summit passes through deep forest growth and an abundant amount of flowering foliage that you can enjoy seeing in bloom if you are hiking in the spring or early summer. Upon reaching the destination point of Silers Bald you will arrive at a grassy meadow on the high elevation with a large rock having a U.S. Geological Survey marker upon it.
