If you want to learn the history behind moonshine, Gatlinburg is the place to go. Visit the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery and learn the art behind making whiskey. The Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery has been making moonshine for more than 200 years, keeping the business and recipes in the family.
With the smell of cooking grain wafting in the air, you can tour the Ole Smoky Distillery and see how the whiskey is made from beginning to end. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and try a sample of the shine for free. Samples come from the Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin’ and Moonshine Cherries – plus seasonal and special flavors.
Don’t forget to stop by the souvenir shop and take home some Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery merchandise, such as apparel, glassware and accessories.
The Ole Smoky Distillery is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., but no alcohol is sold on Sundays.
