Hen Wallow Falls Hiking Trail

Hen Wallow Falls Hiking Trail located in the Cosby Area off of Hwy 32 the trail is 4.4 miles long round trip with an elevation gain of 900' with moderate difficulty rating for hiking abilities and fitness level required. Start out across the street from Cosby Picnic Area to access the trail from Gabes Mountain Trail. With a steady incline taking you up the northern flank of Snake Den Mountain the rugged trail is lined with a variety of plants, low growing foliage filling in the bases of the large trees that provide shade for much of your hike. Just over two miles in you will reach the junction of Hen Wallow Trail that will lead you along the creek that you will see drop over the a rock face cliff for 90' spreading to almost 20' wide at the base. Located just to the right of the falls is a small cave.
