What’s Dolly Parton’s Biggest Secret?
The Smoky Mountain blonde bombshell has fans on edge waiting to find out what her next big secret is all about. Working through Dollywood’s Facebook page, Ms. Parton is revealing a hint a day until the big announcement on August 21. Until then, we at Visit My Smokies have decided to take a few guesses in what Dolly’s big announcement really is. Have your own idea on what Dolly’s big reveal will be? Let us know in the comments below!
A. ‘Mileywood’
To follow Dolly’s new theme of introducing family members into the Pigeon Forge theme park, Dolly will soon announce that Dollywood will re-brand itself to Mileywood. Named after her goddaughter, and rising pop star, Miley Cyrus, Dolly will more than likely include the newly named park as part of her wedding gift to Cyrus and Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.
B. Going Brunette
Just in time for fall, Dolly will be trading in her timeless golden locks for a darker shade. We’re thinking either chestnut or a vivacious auburn color.
C. Governor Parton
It is no secret that Dolly holds her East Tennessee roots close to her heart, and because of this the country music legend has decided to go one step further and run for Tennessee’s next governor! Ms. Parton has already created a strong education platform to run on through her Imagination Library. Geared toward helping childhood literacy rates, the educational program delivers one age-appropriate book a month to kids learning how to read.
D. Dollywood Goes Bi-Coastal
In case we are wrong about the future Mileywood, we have done some digging and discovered that the famous theme park may soon have a sister site in Hawaii. We know Dolly has her eyes on the Atlantic coast after talks surfaced that property was recently purchased in Destin, Florida, but what’s stopping the family-friendly fun from setting up shop in the Pacific as well?
E. New Roller Coaster
Much to the excitement of Dollywood fans, rumors hint that Dolly’s big announcement will include a brand new roller coaster for next season! Signs already in the park suggest a new attraction will take the place of where Adventure Mountain used to be.
Have your own idea on what Dolly Parton’s secret reveal on August 21 will be? Let us know in the comments below. In the mean time, be sure to check out Visit My Smokies’ events calendar for more exciting upcoming events in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville!

Thats a terrible idea. Miley was once a person my daughter loved. Now she looks and acts out of control. I would not rename a family theme park after Miley Cyrus.

I think it is going to be a hotel on the complex. Dolly has wanted this for several years. It will have a rail system to both parks so people staying there can go to either park. That is my guess.

I would love to get a job at Dollywood Park, frying smoked hog jowls and sweet taters in a cast iron skillet over an open fire for Dolly and the visitors that come to the Park. Wouldn’t that smoke smell good down in that Hollow,,,, just say’n…. TC

Steel Magnolia
It is a Pirates Treasure Dinner Theatre in Destin, Fl. Already got the scoop on that one. We have a house there. Not sure about the other clues, but I agree with a few of the other comments about possibilities. Could be a new attraction at Governors Crossing in Sevierville.

My family has visited Pigeon Forge for the past 30 years when Dollywood was Silver Dollar City. Renaming the park after Miley Cyrus, who has forgotten where she came from and doesn’t want to come back to, would be a terrible mistake. I would hope and pray this is not the announcement!

Miley Cyrus has forgotten her roots. Much like her Dad who has forgotten the woman stood behind him all those years. I would not go there if Miley waa involved.

PIGEON FORGE (News Sentinel) — Country music legend and Sevier County native Dolly Parton announced Wednesday a commitment to invest $300 million over the next 10 years in her hometown, where she plans to expand her Dollywood properties.
The capital investments include a 300-room resort that will be located on 100 acres adjacent to her namesake parks and a dual-launch coaster currently under construction in Dollywood.
Parton said she has always been a big dreamer who hoped to do more for her home in the Smoky Mountains. The 10-year investment is projected to create 2,500 jobs and generate an additional $150 million annually to the local economy.
“This is where I nurtured my heart’s dreams, and I want to share more of them,” she said in a news release. “My plans for the next 10 years are to expand my Dollywood properties to offer families more opportunities to play together and grow closer while they make their best memories. It’s truly the culmination of this country girl’s wildest dreams!”

Please don’t turn it onto mileywood that would suck she isn’t a legend like Dolly o think they will loose lots of buisness!! Dollywood is the best and to be changed to new name would ruin it! Espically to MileyCirus!!
