Dolly Parton’s Newest Album Hits #1 Around the World

Dolly Parton means many different things to a variety of people. Whether you think of her as a legendary country artist or a business savvy world traveller, one thing is for certain. She’s one of a kind. Known for a big voice in a little frame, Parton is once again taking the world by storm with her new album, world tour and ever-growing Pigeon Forge theme park.

Though Parton’s Blue Smoke album hasn’t hit store shelves in the U.S., she already has rave reviews around the world. According to WBIR, Parton’s newest album has already hit #1 in New Zealand. Not only has it topped country charts in Australia and New Zealand, the album took the top spot on New Zealand’s all-genre chart as well.

The singer will release Blue Smoke in the U.S on May 13. To get a taste of the new album, Parton released the title single here in the states in March. Fans of the blonde bombshell will happy to hear her signature soprano voice is as spectacular as ever in the title track “Blue Smoke.”

If you just can’t get enough of Dolly, Smoky Mountain vacationers can visit her Pigeon Forge theme park, which has reopened for the 2014 season beginning March 22. In honor of the 29th season, Parton was on hand opening day to unveil her new roller coaster, the FireChaser Express.

Designed for families, the coaster has a height requirement of only 39 inches. The new dual-launch coaster is only one of many new changes to the theme park. The entrance to Showstreet has been upgraded as well, with a new logo and signature butterfly as the focal point of the entryway and a great place for a photo before a day of rides, treats and fun.

Dolly is scheduled to be in the Smoky Mountains a few times this spring, but she has been known to visit her roots occasionally without notice as well.  First, she’ll serve as the grand marshal for her annual Homecoming Parade, an event filled with floats, bands and entertainers on May 2. She is also hosting a fundraising concert for the Imagination Library on May 28 in Knoxville.
